What is GTA V?
Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V) is an action-adventure game developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games. The game can be purchased from Steam or Epic Games.
What is a mod?
A mod (short for “modification”) is an alteration by players or fans of a game that changes one or more aspects of a game, such as how it looks or behaves. Mods may range from small changes and tweaks to complete overhauls, and can extend the replay value and interest of the game.
A mod is not an official extension of a game and therefore not supported by the vendor of the game. Mods are developed and supported by community members.
Where do I find mods for GTA V?
The official page for all GTA V mods is https://www.gta5-mods.com.
GT Bike V is available as a download from gta5-mods.com. However, it’s recommended to use the GTBike V mod installer if you are a new user or if you are looking for a 1-click install method for GT Bike V. Find more details under How Do I install GT Bike V?
What is GT Bike V?
GT Bike V is a mod for GTA V game. The mod allows to connect a smart bike trainer, cycling power meter, smart treadmill, or stride running sensor to the game allowing you to perform virtual activities (cycling and running).
How much does GT Bike V cost?
GT Bike V is free but it requires GTA V game. The game can be purchased from Steam or Epic Games. If you find it fun and useful you can donate to the project.
How do I get support if I have an issue with GT Bike V?

What do I need to use GT Bike V?
Required:
- Cycling: Compatible smart bike trainer (ANT+ FE-C or BLE FTMS) or Cycling power meter (ANT+ or BLE) or Cycling speed/cadence sensor (ANT+ or BLE)

Which operating systems are supported?
GT Bike V is a game modification for GTA V. GTA V runs only on Windows.
You can run GTA V on Mac OS with Apple’s Boot Camp software if your device meets the system requirements. Find more details under Can I run GT Bike V on Mac OS?
Can I run GT Bike V on Mac OS?
GT Bike V is a game modification for GTA V and runs only on Windows. You can install Windows on an Apple device by using Apple™ Boot Camp software.
There are several tutorials on the internet and on YouTube about how to setup Bootcamp. Make sure that your Bootcamp partition is big enough to install Windows and GTA V.
How do I install GT Bike V?
Perform the following steps:
- Purchase GTA V from Steam or Epic Games and install the game
- Download GTBike V mod installer and double click on the installation file

Connectivity
What connectivity devices are supported?
GT Bike V supports ANT+ and Bluetooth and works with the following devices:
- ANT+ FE-C compatible smart bike trainers
- BLE FTMS compatible smart bike trainers
- ANT+ and Bluetooth cycling power meters
- ANT+ and Bluetooth compatible cadence sensors
- ANT+ and Bluetoothcompatible hear rate sensors
- ANT+ FE-C compatible smart treadmills
- BLE FTMS compatible smart treadmills
- ANT+ and Bluetooth stride based speed and distance running sensors
- ANT+ and Bluetooth bike speed sensors (virtual power)

Is Bluetooth connectivity supported?
Bluetooth is currently supported only for selected devices (Bike Power sensor, Speed sensor, Cadence sensor, Heart rate monitor and Steering devices).

How do I connect a device to the game?
GT Bike V automatically scans and connects to active devices. You can enable or disable device support using the configuration file.

Can I connect a heart rate sensor?
Yes, ANT+ and Bluetooth compatible heart rate sensors can be connected.
How can a training app control the power of smart bike trainer (ERG mode)?
In order to let a training app control the smart bike trainer you need to disable the FEC device id in GT Bike V.
You can set in the configuration file GTBikeVConfig.ini the property FECDEVICEID to value 65535 to deactivate the device. This will allow the training app to control the smart bike trainer.
How can I check if a device is connected?
When you open the mod menu and activate the mod, you will see at the menu header different icons for the various devices detected. If the ANT sign has a green dot, that means your ANT stick has been detected properly.
If the green dot is present but the icon for your device types are not present, check if they are awake and have power connected (in case of trainers and treadmills)

How can I troubleshoot connectivity issues with GT Bike V?
Please use the following steps as a guideline for troubleshooting connection issue:
- Run GTA V as Admin
- Press function key F5 (mod menu) and select Activate mod
- Press function key F11 (debug window) and verify (in top right window) that your smart bike trainer is connected
- Read error messages in file ANT_Receiver.txt and BLE_Receiver.txt in the GTA V installation directory
How can I troubleshoot connectivity issues with training apps?

Where do I find the log file to see ANT+ and BLE error messages?
You find ANT+ error messages in file ANT_Receiver.log or BLE_Receiver.log in the GTA V installation directory.
Configuration
Where can I configure GT Bike V?
You find the configuration file GTBikeVConfig.ini under My Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA V\ModSettings. You can change the configuration values with a text editor (e.g. Notepad).

How can I change the trainer difficulty?
You can specify in the configuration file GTBikeVConfig.ini the property TrainerDifficulty . This property is a percentage of the incline value sent to your device when going uphill. It doesn’t affect the incline used to calculate virtual speed.
Supported values are 0-100. Default value is 100.
How can I change from metric to imperial settings?
The mod uses the GTA V game configuration for this. Enter the game menu and change the measurement system there.
This affects the unit system used in the bike display to show distance, speed, etc.
How can I customize steering sensitivity in freeride mode?
This is only possible when you do Freeride with steering. You can specify this in the configuration file GTBikeVConfig.ini in property FINESTEERINGVALUE. This property changes the steering sensitivity for the smooth steering keys (numpad 4 and 6).
Valid values are between 0.3 and 1. Default value is 0.4. Less than 0.3 will not steer at all and 1 will steer just like the regular steering controls.
This setting is not applicable to steering devices, only fine steering keys
How do I calibrate my steering device?
If you are using a BlackTrack or a Sterzo, you can configure the capping angles and modify the calibration values. A detailed description of the configuration settings can be found on the configuration documentation page.
Features
What kind of roads are available in game?
There are roads, gravel roads and trails available.
Are there more routes available?
Courses are collected in a repository and a preview is available on a route database. Community members are also sharing often routes on Grand Theft Auto Bike facebook group.
New courses are automatically downloaded by the mod as soon as they are available in the remote repository.
How can I create my own routes?
Course files can be created manually by entering waypoints with X, Y and Z coordinates in JavaScript Object Notation (JSON) format.
Can I use tools to create routes?
You can use map editor mod to set markers and convert the output file (.xml) to a course file (.json) using route builder tool.
How can I upload my ride to a fitness tracker app?
GT Bike V allows to save your virtual activity in a FIT file. This file can be used to upload it to your favorite fitness tracker app (e.g. Strava).

How can I save my activity to a FIT file?
Perform the following steps to save your virtual activity to a FIT file:
- Wait until the virtual activity computer shows zero speed
- Open mod menu by pressing F5 key
- Select option End and save current activity
This will save the activity data to a FIT file to user data directory located at My Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA V. You can manually upload the FIT file to your favorite fitness tracker app (e.g. Strava).
How can I take screenshots during the activity?
GT Bike V mod captures automatically screenshots during the activity. The screenshots are saved to user data directory located at My Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA V.
You can specify this in the configuration file GTBikeVConfig.ini in property SCREENSHOTINTERVALKM. This property defines at which interval (in km) a screenshot should be taken. Default interval is every 5 kilometers.
Another option is to use screen capture tools. A detailed description about screenshot tools can be found on the screenshots documentation page.
How can I take a screenshot from another screen?
You can specify this in the configuration file GTBikeVConfig.ini in property SCREENSHOTXOFFSET. This property sets the offset for the screenshots taken during the activity.
Default is 0. Change this value if you are using multiple screens and your screenshots only show your main display, and you are not running GTA V on that display. In that case set the value to the horizontal resolution of your main screen.
Game Play
How do I start GT Bike V?
GT Bike V is available once you have started GTA V in Story Mode. Press function key F5 to display GT Bike V main menu.

Does GT Bike V work in Online Mode?
No. GT Bike V is only supported in Story Mode. If you play the mod in Online Mode then you will be immediatly blocked from accessing the game.

How can I automatically start GTA V in Story Mode?
Open Settings menu in GTA V. Navigate to menu item Saving and Startup. Set the following properties:
- Landing Page > Off
- Startup Flow > Load into Story Mode
Why can’t I start the activity when I activate the mod?
An activity will only be started if the mod detects any of the compatible sensor devices. Make sure your device is connected, active, and seen by the computer. Press function key F11 (debug window) and verify (in top right window) that your device is connected.
Why do I get "Mission Failed" when I begin an activity?
You must complete The Prologue missions so your character is allowed to freely roam Los Santos. Play in GTA V in Story Mode and complete all missions of the Prologue. The prologue contains four missions: The Robbery, The Threat-Assessment, The Escape, The Getaway. There are several tutorials on the internet and on YouTube about how to finish the missions.
If you don’t want to play the game at all, the mod installer leaves a save game file for the 100% completed game. Find more details under Do I have to play the game to use GT Bike V?

If you don’t want to play the game at all, the mod installer leaves a save game file for the 100% completed game.
You find the save file in My Documents\RockStar Games\GTA V\ModSettings\SGTA50000. You can use that to skip the whole game and have all the characters available. Find more details under How Do I install a save file?
How do I install the save file?
Perform the following steps to install the save file:
- Copy file SGTA50015 from Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA V\ModSettings folder
- Navigate to Documents/Rockstar Games/GTA V/Profiles/(your profile) folder and paste file SGTA50015.
- If you have overwritten the save file you might get a Cloud Sync Conflict during startup of GTA V. In this case, confirm to overwrite the latest file.
How can I steer in freeride mode?
There are two freeride options available:
- Freeride with autodrive if no course is loaded, the character will roam freely around the map
- Freeride with steering steering with game controller or numpad (4=left, 6=right) or a steering device like Sterzo, Zwift Play or BlackTrack
How can I stop during a ride?
Stop pedaling and wait until the bike stops or apply the brake (press key S on keyboard).
How can I change the view during a ride?
The following options are available to change the view:
- Press key V on keyboard – toggle between normal view / first person view
- Press button B on game controller – change between normal view / ground view / top view
- Moving right joystick on game controller – manually change angle view
Can I crash during a ride?
Los Santos is sometimes a dangerous place for cycling. If a crash happens then the rider will automatically get back to the bike and continue the ride. If the rider gets thrown off to far then you can recover by moving the rider back to the bike with the game controller.
You can avoid any disruption during a ride by configuring the mod to disable traffic.
Why do I get off track although I’m using autodrive and avoid obstacles on a course?
Using a course will guide the rider towards a direction. However, your bike will slide on loose surfaces above a certain speed. As a result, you can get off track, lose navigation or even crash. Gravel roads and trails around Mount Chilliad are known to be challenging.
You can avoid getting off track by slowing down before gnarly sections either by pressing key S (brake) or by free-weehling. You should be able to master those sections with speeds below 30 km/20 mph.
Multiplayer
What is multiplayer mode?
The multiplayer capabilities of GTBikeV allow the rider to see other riders cycling at the same time in Los Santos.
How do I enable multiplayer?
You don’t need to do anything to enable it. As soon as you activate the mod it will automatically connect to the server.
What can I do while connected?
You can ride along with other connected players, send them chat messages, see the list of connected players and their position in the map.
How do I see other people connected?
You can show a list of connected players using the key “z” on your keyboard. In addition you can see how many people are there riding every course by browsing the courses. Lastly, you can see the “blips” (white dots) on the map when you access the pause menu (ESC or P)
Is there a chat system available?
Yes, you can chat with other players provided you have a keyboard to write.
Use the “T” key in the keyboard to start writing your message.
Joining a group ride
To join a group ride just select “Join multiplayer ride” from the main menu or browse through the courses to see which one has active riders and join it.
What happens if I lost my internet connection?
Obviuosly you will stop seeing the other riders and their bots, but apart from that, nothing. Your activity is the most important thing here, and it won’t be interrupted in any way. You can keep riding with only the occasional reconnecting attempt message.
If the connection lost is temporary, the mod will reconnect to the server automatically when there is connectivity again
